What are Botox and fillers?

How does Botox work?

Botox works by delivering a small, carefully controlled dose of botulinum toxin to the muscle that’s causing your wrinkle. Dr. Sandhu applies the Botox with an extremely small needle. Once applied, the botulinum toxin freezes the muscle, preventing it from contracting. This relaxes the skin over the muscle, smoothing your wrinkle. The results from Botox usually last around three months, although in some cases it can keep wrinkles at bay for up to six months.

How do fillers work?

Dr. Sandhu injects Juvéderm fillers with an extremely small needle or cannula to minimize your discomfort during treatment. Like Botox, the treatment itself usually takes just minutes, and you can continue with your day immediately afterward.

The results from treatments with Juvéderm usually last six months to a year.
