Ultherapy uses the beauty of sound to cause a non-surgical skin lifting procedure. Ultherapy is the ONLY non-invasive procedure that lifts skin on the neck, chin and brow.
For the first time, “Ulthera” allows us to direct sound waves not only into the skin but also deep under the skin to the same tissue addressed in surgery. The ultrasound energy heats the tissue to lift and tighten the loose skin without cutting or disrupting the surface of the skin. In addition there is also an invisible result from Ultherapy with the creation of new collagen, which helps the skin restore its youthful look.
A single 60-90 minute procedure with “NO” patient downtime. You can go back to work that same day. It is skin color independent, No pre-or post treatment skin care requirements. It is Safe for all skin types. Noticeable results that improve over 90-180 days and last 1 year of more.
Ultherpy uses microfocused ultrasound to non-invasively treat the same deep tissue planes as modern facelift with “NO” patient downtime.
The patented imaging capability of Ulthera transducers is the only technology that lets us see where we are treating non-invasively. Like a magnifying glass focusing solar energy, Ulthera transducer micro focuses ultrasound energy below the skin to non-invasively heat tissue. It utilizes localized heating at precise depths. Ultherapy treats with precise spacing between coagulation points to promote healing. It provides repeatable treatment delivery. Ultherapy treats much deeper than radio-frequency.
ULTHERAPY FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
WHAT IS ULTHERAPY?
Ultherapy is the only non-invasive treatment approved by the FDA for lifting the skin on the neck, chin and brow. Ultherapy uses focused ultrasound to lift and tighten loose skin over time, without any downtime.
HOW IS ULTHERAPY DIFFERENT FROM OTHER COSMETIC PROCEDURES?
Ultherapy is the only non-surgical cosmetic procedure that uses focused ultrasound to stimulate the growth of new collagen deep within the skin. The production of new collagen occurs over time, so results can become apparent over three to six months. The procedure takes only about an hour for most patients, and there is no downtime.
It also is the only procedure to use ultrasound imaging, which allows us to actually see the layers of tissue being targeted during treatment and ensure energy is deposited precisely to where it will be most effective. This way we can safely treat at pre-determined depth within the surface of the skin. With Ultrasound we pass the upper layers of the skin and deliver energy at the right depths to contract and then ultimately lift the soft tissue. The use of ultrasound also allows us to see where the energy is being delivered.
Focused ultrasound energy is delivered, non-invasively and heats deep tissue without affecting the skin surface. This causes a natural, regenerative response. Treatment can be done at three depths. The deep layer otherwise known as the SMAS layer is the layer a surgeon cauterizes during surgical face lift is treated along with deeper layer of the dermis and in some cases the superficial layer of the dermis is also treated. The Ulthera causes multiple thermal coagulation points in the three layers. The heat triggers the body’s natural response mechanism which is to rejuvenate tired collagen and supplement it with fresh new collagen, thereby causing tightening of the skin and lifting of the skin.
DOES ULTHERAPY HURT?
While comfort thresholds vary from patient to patient, most patients report that the procedure is quite tolerable. If and when any discomfort does occur, it happens while the ultrasound energy is being delivered. This sensation is temporary and is a positive signal that the collagen-building process has been initiated. A recent Software upgrade called “Ultherapy Amplify” now affords a more comfortable procedure.
We take measures to make the experience as pleasant as possible (e.g. premedication, cooling fans), and patients leave comfortable and excited about the benefits to come.
HOW LONG DOES ULTHERAPY LAST?
Patients treated with Ultherapy still have fresh collagen after a year’s time following the procedure, but skin continues to age. Future touch-up treatments can help keep pace with the aging process, which varies by individual.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS FROM ULTHERAPY?
There may be slight redness for up to an hour or so following the treatment, and a small percentage of patients may have slight swelling, tingling or tenderness to touch, but these are mild and temporary in nature.
IS ULTHERAPY SAFE?
The procedure has been cleared by the FDA after demonstrating safety in clinical studies, and over 100,000 treatments have been performed worldwide. In addition, ultrasound energy has a proven track record, with use in the field of medicine for more than 50 years.
HOW MANY ULTHERAPY TREATMENTS DOES IT TAKE?
The majority of patients only need one treatment; however some may benefit from more than one depending on how much laxity they have and their body’s own biological response to the ultrasound and the collagen-building process.
WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR ULTHERAPY?
A good candidate for Ultherapy is someone with skin that has some degree of laxity, to the point of looking, and often feeling, less firm. A lowered eyebrow line or sagging skin on the eyelids, for instance, is often the first sign of “maturing”skin. Loose skin under the neck and under the chin signals a patient might be a candidate. Typically , those in their thirties and older who have mild to moderate skin laxity are candidates.
While Ulatherapy is not a replacement for a surgical face lift, there are many people who want some lifting but are not ready surgery, either mentally, physically or financially. There also are younger people who want to “stay ahead of the game” as well as those looking to prolong the effects of cosmetic surgery.
WHAT DOES COLLAGEN DO? HOW DOES ULTHERAPY STIMULATE THE CREATION OF COLLAGEN?
Collagen is a natural protein that gives skin its youthfulness by keeping it firmed and toned. As we age, collagen looses its strength and its ability to stand up to the effects of gravity that pulls the skin downward.
After ultherapy weak collagen is reorganized and strengthened by the growth of new collagen, which lifts the skin. Collagen is the protein latticework providing structure to the skin and deep supportive tissue below the skin. Weakened collagen in the superficial layers can cause fine lines and wrinkles. Weakened collagen if deeper connective tissue causes the skin to become prone to gravitational forces and begins to stretch, sag and shift downward.
Ultherapy uses focused ultrasound to generate a thermal effect under the skin. The thermal effect essentially jumpstarts a repair process that strengthens existing collagen and produces fresh, new collagen.
CAN MEN HAVE ULTHERAPY DONE?
Yes! Both women and men globally are receiving Ultherapy.
HOW MUCH DOES ULTHERAPY COST?
Patients can expect to pay between $ 750 to $ 4,500, depending upon the areas being treated. Ultherapy meets the demand for something between skin creams and surgery.
