As you age, your body changes. Everything from your skin, bones, and teeth changes with age. Your skin also takes in everything from the air to the sun over the years, so skin changes with age and with your surroundings.

It’s natural for some aging skin to develop hyperpigmentation, or dark spots. You may also notice that tiny spider veins have risen against your skin, showing through. You don’t have to accept all of the changes you experience with aging, though.

New Image Med Spa offers the anti-aging options you’re looking for to combat aging skin and give you a youthful glow. Our very own Surinder Sandhu, MD, has a decade of experience in aesthetic medicine and has been in practice since 1983. With plenty of knowledge and expertise in a number of conditions affecting the skin and the body, Dr. Sandhu can help you say goodbye to pigment problems and hello to a better overall complexion.

We take the signs of aging seriously, and we can help you turn the clock back with our cutting-edge treatments.

How do you reverse the signs of aging?

Anti-aging efforts should ideally begin before the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Using sunscreen daily, minimizing your sun exposure, applying gentle cleansers, and moisturizing your skin consistently are all integral to your skin care. Barring genetics, it’s impossible to completely prevent wrinkles.

While we can’t make you as young as you were, we can help you smooth and perfect your skin for a more youthful look. One of our most popular and innovative anti-aging treatments is the IPL photofacial, a remarkable laser treatment that addresses effects of photoaging.

What is an IPL photofacial?

“IPL” stands for “intense pulsed light.” Also called light therapy, an IPL photofacial is designed to attack signs of aging while sparing healthy skin.

These noninvasive laser treatments attack dark spots in your skin — it’s effective with several pigment problems such as freckles, liver spots, and birthmarks. An IPL photofacial can reduce the appearance of wrinkles, redness as a result of rosacea, spider veins, and even acne scars.

How long does it take?

A typical session takes roughly 30 minutes, but your treatments may take two hours, depending on the size of the area you want to address. For the best results, you undergo a series of treatments, with each IPL treatment spaced a few weeks apart.

Dr. Sandhu tells you how many treatments you need and what steps you should take to care for your skin in the interim. She also gives you realistic expectations of the results you can expect when you’ve completed your series of treatments.

I’m ready for my first treatment. When can I start?

We’re glad to hear this. Dr. Sandhu enjoys sitting down with each patient to explain their options. If you’re not sure whether an IPL photofacial is the treatment you need, that’s OK. We have other options, and we can always provide guidance for your daily skin care routine.

Fighting the signs of aging is a personal decision, and we encourage you to pursue changes that you’re happy with. If you’re looking for a solution for tired, aging skin, we can help. Call us for an appointment today, or request one using our convenient online form.
